MALI : VISION 2025 – BRINGING EYE CARE TO STUDENTS IN BAMAKO
Many students, across all grade levels, suffer from vision problems that can hinder their learning, limit their participation in class, and slow their overall development. Yet, good visual health is essential for academic success!
With this in mind, the BOA Foundations launched a regional vision screening campaign in several countries, in partnership with the pan-African optician LAPAIRE. To date, over 7,500 students have been screened in Benin, Burkina Faso, and Côte d’Ivoire, and 722 of them have already received corrective glasses.
In Mali, the BOA Foundation recently organized the campaign, which took place from January 7 to 13, 2025, at the AMINATA DIOP School Group in Bamako. This initiative enabled the screening of 2,213 students, 192 of whom were diagnosed with vision impairments. These students will receive glasses provided free of charge by the BOA Foundation in partnership with LAPAIRE Mali.
