BOA Foundation and Lalla Asmaa Foundation for children’s auditory inclusion

Giving a new voice to those who have never heard – this is the strong commitment made by BANK OF AFRICA alongside the Lalla Asmaa Foundation through the 4th edition of the NASMAA program. This project aims to transform the lives of children suffering from profound deafness through cochlear implantation and tailored speech therapy rehabilitation.

A Commitment That Continues

Since 2022, 87 children have benefited from this operation in Morocco and Côte d’Ivoire. This year, 68 children from 14 African countries have undergone surgery in 6 hospitals across Morocco. The children, accompanied by a parent, then follow a structured care and rehabilitation pathway.

A Pan-African Mobilization with Key Partners

The NASMAA program is an initiative of the Lalla Asmaa Foundation, which is dedicated to the health of deaf children and young people. This year, the BOA Group participated through 7 of its subsidiaries  (Djibouti, Kenya, Uganda, DRC, Rwanda, Togo, and BCB) and 6 of its foundations (Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Madagascar, Mali). Other key partners that helped make this ambitious program possible include COCHLEAR, Royal Air Maroc,  and the Moroccan Ministries of Health, Solidarity, and Foreign Affairs.

The WHO estimates that 40 million people in Africa suffer from disabling hearing loss. Through this initiative, Bank of Africa  reaffirms its commitment to inclusion, solidarity, and access to specialized healthcare for underprivileged children.

A Major Public Health Issue in Africa

With this initiative, BANK OF AFRICA reiterates its dedication to inclusion, solidarity, and specialized healthcare for children  across the African continent. Together, let’s give children the sound of a better future.

Proud to be BOA!
