Niger : Support to flood victims

Last September, Niger experienced major flooding and many families were affected, particularly in Niamey.

Responding to the authorities’ call for solidarity, the BANK OF AFRICA Foundation quickly set up a support operation. On October 9, 2020, 13 tons of rice, 1,100 liters of oil, 1,100 mats and 128 boxes of soap were delivered to 550 households in six districts of Niamey.

The Foundation also contributed 35 million CFA francs (about EUR 53,000) to the renovation of the Faculty of Science and Health, which was badly damaged by the floods. The operation led by the First Lady’s Tattali Iyali Foundation will enable medical students to resume classes quickly.
