BANK OF AFRICA – TANZANIA officially launched Agency Banking Services on 1st August 2023, the new service channel dubbed “BANK OF AFRICA WAKALA” came as part of the bank’s strategy for Digitization of its services while bringing services closer to customers.  The introduction of these services was done in partnership with Selcom through which BANK OF AFRICA customers will be able to access banking services through selected agents across the country. 

BANK OF AFRICA WAKALA brings convenience to the bank’s clients where clients are now able to deposit or withdraw funds via 100 selected agents across the country. The goal of the bank is to contract over 300 agents for the first year.  

The service was officiated via a press conference that was held at the Bank’s Head Office and was attended by the Managing Director, Chief Digital Officer, and the Head of Marketing and Communication, with representatives from Selcom, Head of Acceptance, and Platform Manager.
